LOS ANGELES (TND) — Reality TV matriarch Kris Jenner said a tumor doctors recently found on one of her ovaries has grown.
She shared the news Thursday during the most recent episode of the Hulu series "The Kardashians."
"It's growing, so let's just get rid of it," Jenner says to Dr. Boris Vaisman during a preoptive exam, adding that her surgery is a week away. "It just want to get it over with. The episode shows the 68-year-old speaking to her doctor about the upcoming procedure -- as well as cracking jokes -- before Vaisman cleared her for surgery.
"I was thinking, 'What else I could do at the same time?'" she laughed, referencing cosmetic surgery. "I like to multitask at all times."
In all seriousness, she says she is staying optimistic even though she is emotional.
"I've made peace that this is happening, but I'm still a little nervous," she says in a confessional."It never occurred to me that this surgery would be something that I would have to do," she later adds."To lift her spirits, Jenner's daughters, including Kim and Khloé, throw Jenner a mini-party. They get her a cake that says, "It's not 'ovary' yet,' along with a bouquet of flowers and a bunch of pink and white balloons.
"My mom is pretty sad about having to lose her ovaries and I think we need to make it into a positive moment and bring something to cheer her up and just celebrate the amazing work those ovaries have done," Kim says on the show. The episode is entitled "My Most Important Job," which is a nod to a sentiment Jenner shared when she announced doctors first spotted the tumor. At the time, she spoke about how upset she was that she had to have her ovaries removed.
"I love being pregnant and I do mourn not ever being able to be pregnant again," Jenner says on the show. "It was just this delicious time in my life where everything came to a halt -- life was beautiful. It was the best time of my life. The best years."
But Jenner now says she plans to have a full hysterectomy. In the episode, she tells her friends one of her doctors, Dr. A, advised her to do the hysterectomy.
"Dr. A -- she goes, "Listen, I really think the best thing for you is to remove the whole thing -- do the complete hysterectomy -- and not give anything a chance to grow anywhere,” she says.
“Here’s the thing. I did it, they found something, we’re here to fix it, and I’m going to do something and remove something that gave me six of the best parts of my whole life,” she adds.
Jenner has six children: Kourtney Kardashian, 45, Kim Kardashian, 43, Khloé Kardashian, 40, Robert Kardashian, Jr., 37, Kendall Jenner, 28, and Kylie Jenner, 26.
